IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Yvonne Dora
Peak
December 23, 1941 – May 27, 2025
Yvonne was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and endless devotion to her family. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., she graduated from Shaw Senior High School and went on to live a life full of purpose, resilience, and grace.
Yvonne was a dedicated and hardworking woman who held many roles throughout her life. She worked as a freight elevator operator for Springfield White Castle and the Department of the Army and Navy, where she ensured safety and cleanliness in her daily duties. She also worked as a maid, a licensed daycare provider, and a newspaper inserter—each role reflecting her diligence, attention to detail, and care for others. She retired in 1994, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and love for her family.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Allen Lynch, and Virginia Mary Lynch; her brothers Carl Lynch, Clarence Allen Lynch Jr., Rev Lawrence Lynch, Perry Lynch; sisters Jean Mae McNey and Henrietta Allen; and her beloved grandson Curtis Lynch.
She is survived by her loving husband, Johnny Eugene Peak; her devoted daughter, Francine Lynch; her brothers Harry Lynch and Earl Brooks; and her sisters Deloris Wade, Marie Coltrane, and Charlotte McGruder. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Evelyn Lynch, Viola Lynch, and Renée Brooks; four grandchildren—Sabrina Sullivan, Dion Lynch, Samantha Lynch, and Yvonne Lynch; eleven great-grandchildren—Malika Sullivan, April Jordan, Mya Pitts, Nayla Lynch, Dion Hawkins, Chloe Lynch, Dionna Lynch, Dylan Travers, Montana Lynch, Chayce Lynch and Braylen Lynch; and her great-great granddaughter—Lovie Harris; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.
Yvonne was the thread that kept generations stitched together. With her passing, five generations were represented in one room. A powerful reminder of the legacy she leaves behind her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, family, and selfless love. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
