IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wanda C.
Wanzer
November 19, 1960 – December 28, 2016
The Life of Wanda Colette Royster-Wanzer
The LORD of all creation, perfect and wise came for our beloved Wanda Colette Wanzer, as she was ushered by angelic hosts into Our Lord's Presence on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, late that evening.
Wanda was born November 19, 1960, in Newport News, VA to the late Dillard and Lucressa Royster. She was born fifth of six children and was affectionately known as "Nana" to her grandchildren, and "Mom" to her children's friends.
Wanda attended Prince George's County Elementary Schools in Landover, MD. Later her family relocated to Alexandria, VA, where she graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1979. After high school she married and in that union had three wonderful children. Later she and her family resided many years in Woodbridge VA., & more recently in Charles County MD. She was a fantastic mother, homemaker, and cook. As her children grew older she began working as a clerk at the Patent and Trademark Office. She continued taking classes to further her education where she worked til she became too ill and resigned on retirement disability. More recent years she worked as an intake coordinator in her eldest sister's practice Sunflower Therapeutic Services LLC.
Wanda's favorite pass times were catalog shopping, cooking and eating her favorite foods, listening to jazz/gospel & crocheting. Though raised in a Christian atmosphere, it was later in life that she surrendered her life to Christ. Everyone who crossed her path knew that she truly loved the Lord; she also loved praising and dancing to the Lord.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Dillard and Lucressa Royster, and granddaughter Naveah Wanzer. She leaves to cherish her memories (one) son: Rayvon Wanzer, (two) daughters: Sharee Wanzer, Colette Wanzer – five grandchildren: Kiana, Nataeja, Trinity, Titus, Myles, three brothers: Vernon, Dillard Jr., Nathan, two sisters Malinda, Woodrena, and a host of nieces, nephews, In-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, and loving friends
