IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rose Parkinson
Wright
August 28, 1960 – August 3, 2024
Rose Parkinson Wright was called to her eternal home with the Lord on August 3, 2024, at her residence in Upper Marlboro, MD, at the age of 63.
Born on August 28, 1960, in Coffee Grove District within Manchester, Jamaica, to the late Mr. Donald James Parkinson and to Ms. Leanora Unice Hill. She was the second oldest of nine children. Rose migrated to Maryland in the early 1990s in pursuit of the American dream. She journeyed with the love of her life, Mr. Sam Wright, whom she married; together, they had three children.
Throughout her life, Rose exemplified resilience, courage, and strength. Her exuberant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and faith were central to her being. She cherished her time with family and friends, enjoyed attending church as a member at First Baptist Church of Glenarden, cooking, gardening, and sharing her Jamaican heritage. Rose took great pride in her nursing career, dedicating herself to caring for others until her retirement. She was also very giving and kindhearted; always looking out for her loved ones and helping in any way that she could.
She is survived by her five children (Almarie, Keneisha, Sameisha, Sam, & Sammoya), six grandchildren (Keisha, Malachi, Damari, Leana, Daymien and Sameira), three great-grandchildren (Jennice, Jaylah and Jayden), Mother (Ms. Hill), and six siblings (Bev, Tussell, Sharon, Tony, and Odell. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings (Eddie, Vennie, and Basil), who are fondly remembered. She is also remembered by her wide circle of extended family and friends.
Rose will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We take solace in knowing she is embraced by our Lord and Savior. May her laughter, words, and smile continue to inspire and live on in our hearts forever.
