Massimo Antonio Rollé (1959-2025) age 65, of Clinton, Maryland, passed away in Washington D.C. on Sunday September 14, 2025.

He was born in Torino, Italy, in 1959 to Germano Rollé and Giuseppina Olivetti. He spent most of his childhood growing up in South Africa, which instilled a lifelong passion in him for adventure, the outdoors, and automobiles. He came to America in 1985, where he pursued a long and fulfilling career in the transit space. A man of many cultures, he never forgot his home country, and returned often to spend time with his family and friends in their ancestral home in the Alps. With a wide grin, an easy attitude, and quick wit, he brought a smile to many people's faces, up until the very end.

Massimo was preceded in death by his parents, Germano Rollé and Giuseppina Olivetti (fre Rollé), of Torino, Italy and is survived by his children, David Rollé, his wife Alyce Buchenan, and their two children – Persephone and Artemis – of Princeton, Massachusetts; his daughter Michala Rollé, of Denver, Colorado; and his wife, Patra Kidwell, of Clinton, Maryland.

A memorial will be held in spring 2026 in Piemonte, Italy. The family asks that donations to the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) be made instead of flowers or other gifts.
