Obituary

IN LOVING MEMORY OF Lucille Roy Newman, born on July2, 1933 and departed this life on September 6, 2025.  Lucille was born in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Ernest and Julia Roy. She attended Parker Gray School 1st thru 12 grade when she graduated. Lucille met her soon to be husband, Marion Newman, one day when she was walking home from school. Shortly after they married and started a family of their own.  This union resulted in 5 children. Mario A., Mona T., Marlon E., Lawrence A., and Elizabeth L. Lucille was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She looked forward to holidays and loved to cook and spend time with family, which was the highlight of her life. She enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball, football, tennis and track. Most of all she loved watching movies with her great-granddaughters Mecia and Niya. She loved eating ice cream and cake, so much that she ate it every night.

Lucille was proceeded in death by her Husband Marion, two sons Mario and Marlon; two granddaughters, Shawntae, and Shawna; brothers Melvin, Clarence, and Alan Roy;  sisters Eleanor Mercadel, Jacqueline Price Shirley Winfield and Phyllis Tate. She leaves behind to cherish her memory sister Audrey Hampton, brother Steven Roy. two daughters, Mona T. Newman, Elizabeth L. Newman (Antonio) , and son, Lawrence A. Newman. Also, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
