Charlene 'Keva' Bond was born to Mary Alice Hall and Dennis Eugene Sikes Sr. on December 14, 1959, in Washington DC. She was educated in the Washington DC public school system graduating high school in June of 1977.
Later she met and fell in love with Vernon Jack Bond II. They married and enjoyed a blissful union of 40 years. Together they loved and enjoyed raising their 2 sons.
Charlene loved to research and assist others to gain the benefits of what life had to offer beyond any disabilities and challenges. She was also a foodie and enjoyed the finest cuisine. All that knew her, knew that seafood was her favorite. Randolph Shepard Vending Facilities Program was an instrumental part in her becoming an owner & operator of Mackenzie's Café in the Potomac Center Plaza. Charlene was able to offer employment to many through this opportunity.
She was the family matriarch who is survived by two sons: Phillip Salim Sikes Sr. (NeQuatta) Vernon Jack Bond III (Nikera-fiancé), one grandson - Phillip Salim Sikes II, one brother - Carl Hall (Angela); nieces (Mary, Michelle, and Christina), nephews (Nate, Percy, and John), and a host of other loving relatives and friends.. Charlene was proceeded in death by her husband, Vernon J. Bond II; mother, Mary Alice Hall; father, Dennis Eugene Sikes Sr.; brother and sister, Dennis, and Denise.
She will be dearly missed and greatly remembered for always saying this…
"I'm a grown woman and I make my own decisions"
