Angela Hood, better known as "Angie," daughter of the late Darrell Byrd and Carmen Marie Byrd, was born on September 17, 1977, in Washington, DC. Angie was a sibling of three. She attended DC public schools and received her high school diploma from H.D. Woodson. On Thursday, January 26, 2023, she departed this life and was called home to be with the lord.

Angie accepted the lord as her savior. She was a member of "The Community of Hope Baptist Church." She was devoted and loved attending church service. Angie would participate in online services on days she could not do in-person service. In addition, Angie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved attending family gatherings, events at the children's school, sports activities, and so much more. It didn't matter to Angie as long as she was present. When you saw Angie, you saw her children. She loved them unconditionally.

Angie was like a breath of fresh air. When she entered a room, a good time was bound to happen. She had a personality out of this world and a heart of gold. Angie was always willing to give someone her last, even if it meant the shirt off her back; it was yours.

Angie was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Byrd; grandmother, Shirley Hawkins; uncles, George Byrd, John Hawkins, Tyrone Byrd, and Karl Hawkins; aunts, Juanette Williams and Tamicko Hawkins.

Angie leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Jamar Hood; children, Tamicko Hood, Patrica-Marie Hood, Jacqueline Hood, Blair Hood, Taylor Hood, Jamar Hood Jr. mother, Carmen Marie Byrd; uncle Vincent Hawkins; brothers, Jason Byrd, Darrell Byrd, and Derrick Carter; sister, Nikki Marshall; her best friend, Charline Spruill; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other dear relatives, and friends.
